    Story

Ramu had absolute confidence in his culinary skill. His palate was capable of immediately ascertaining the recipe of any dish he eats, and he could even tell how fresh the ingredients were. When it came to food preparations, he had an almost sixth sense for knowing exactly when a dish was perfectly cooked, and his meals always tasted better than anyone else's, whether they were made with vegetables, fruit, fish, meat, or flour. Ramu was quite literally born to cook.

    Story

"You have 50 minutes. Go!" As soon as the host finished speaking, one of the judges, a chef named Jeff who headed up the famous restaurant "The Red Sleeve," turned over a giant hourglass. The participants immediately ran to claim their ingredients. Ramu did the same. In the giant water tanks swam a large number of fish, and each chef had to use a net to catch the fish they wanted. One overly anxious participant had accidentally fallen into one of the tanks. While he was being attacked by the carnivorous fish, Ramu caught the fish he wanted with a single flick of his wrist. As soon as the water tank covers had been lifted, he immediately knew which one to catch: the "Beth," an Astromon. He didn't know why an Astromon had been included together with otherwise regular fish, but it caught his eye, and would work as an ingredient. Noticing this, the host offered his commentary. "Oh my! Surprisingly, Ramu has chosen the Astromon! Beths can shoot powerful bubbles and, in some cases, even self destruct. Will Ramu be able to handle such a volatile fish?!"

    Story

As soon as Ramu removed the cover from his platter, a warm steam floated through the air and tickled the judges' noses. "It's so...fragrant! You'd have no idea this was fish." "Look at those colors! I've never seen a glaze shine so golden." Each judge commented as they took a portion of the food onto their plate. As they took their first bite, suddenly the life of the Beth flashed before their eyes. They saw the Beth hatch from a small egg, and watched as it spent its youth in the Seabed Caves, staying out of the way of predators. They saw it marvel at the luminescia it found faintly glowing in the darkest depths of the ocean, and they felt the warmth of the dreams that light had inspired. They shared in the joy and the pain of its first love, and watched until a bright light drowned out the image of the Beth's smiling face... There was not a dry eye on the judges' stand. "This was..." "What a splendid life..." "Beth, I'll never forget you..." Ramu was unanimously voted to the next round, and headlines the next day spoke of how a participant had brought the judges' stand to tears.

    Story

Stefan Teri concentrated harder and harder on what the "most powerful" dish might mean until the stress caused him to throw up blood and he was taken away for medical treatment. Oliver James, on the other hand, assumed the most powerful dish meant he needed the most powerful ingredients, and so he left the event in search of a titan to slay. This left Ramu by himself to finish the final round. Some spectators who had been waiting for an intense cook-off voiced their dissatisfaction, but all who were watching eventually became transfixed by the culinary skill Ramu exhibited. Thus was the winner of Master Cook decided.
