    Story

A meticulous private detective who is rational and doubts everything...is what most people know her as, but the truth is she's not as flawless as she may seem. Due to her habit of making deductions after gathering all the clues, she has a hard time dealing with any new information introduced after her deduction, particularly anything that weakens her conclusion. Although she never lets it show, her ego takes a heavy blow in such cases, and it is her assistant Watson who takes the brunt of her frustration.

    Story

[Excerpt from Sherlock's Case Diaries, Vol. 2] "The man suspected it was the work of the one indebted to him, but I didn't feel the need to even question the young man across the street. The perpetrator was already right here. 'Has your Woolf...sorry, your Woolfius recently been given cause for stress?' As soon as I asked, staring at him through my glasses, his eyes grew wide. 'I... What does that have to do with this? I only need my promissory note.' 'It has everything to do with this. After your retirement, there clearly was an incident in which your Woolfius became stressed.' '...Yes.' His face turned red, he began to squirm, and he seemed to have a hard time finding the right words. Of course, I was only interested in the case, so any embarrassment he may have felt was completely unnecessary, but I waited for him to respond. 'Once my retirement was confirmed, I was told I'd have to put my Woolfius up for adoption... You know, since only masters can raise them... So I took him around to meet different masters, and I guess that stressed him out...' It had not been long since the Woolfius had evolved, and dealing with both its master's negative feelings and a sudden change to its environment would be more than enough cause for a great amount of stress. Given that Woolfiuses have a habit of gnawing on and eating leaves from nearby trees when they are stressed, it stands to reason it first gnawed on the carpet before spotting the promissory note on the kitchen table. I told the client to head to the Woolfius's new shelter and inspect its feces, and then I headed back to the office and put on a pot of solbe tea. 'But what if your conclusion was wrong?' Watson asked with a dubious look as I poured the tea into both our cups.

    Story

"Welcome back. Would you like the usual?" The barista's courteous, sweet voice tickled Sherlock's ears. "Yes, 3 ounces. 2 minutes, 15 seconds." "Coming right up." He smiled at her and took out the tea leaves. Her spirit lifted, Sherlock observed his body language and unwittingly crinkled her nose. ("Judging from his shoulders and his toned upper body, he clearly trains regularly. His lower body must also be well-developed, given how naturally he is able to maintain his balance while he hurries. The calluses on his back of his hands and his long fingers suggest he once studied some form of Pankration-style martial arts. The smell of sweat lingers on his clothes, indicating he either ran to work or came here directly after working out. As a barista, he has undoubtedly been thoroughly trained; he adds exactly the right amount of leaves to the tea, no more, no less. His hand movements are agile, his vision highly acute. The few hairs between his eyebrows is slightly flattened... Does he wear glasses outside of work? It could be caused by a mask, too...") The barista turned and locked eyes with her, at which point Sherlock immediately lowered her head. ("Did he catch me...?") She was observing and analyzing him in the same way she did everyone else, but for some reason she felt embarrassed. She focused on the papers she brought and pretended to make notes. As she did so, the barista looked at her and smiled, but also nervously gulped. ("Did she catch me...?")

    Story

[Note from Sherlock's Case Diaries] "After collecting and analyzing all the clues and statements from all the victims, I came to a startling conclusion. In my disbelief, I went back over my papers again and again, but it all could only mean one thing. 'When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.' That was the philosophy I lived by, but this time I hoped against hope that it was wrong. If it wasn't... Perhaps it was simply that I was losing my deductive edge. My mind filled with paradoxical thoughts as I hurried to the cafe. When I arrived, my hopes were crushed by the "Closed" sign that had been hung beneath the sign that said "Always Open." What upset me even more was Lupin's poorly drawn face next to the "d" in "Closed." The hair on my body stood up as I was filled with anger from the realization that he tricked me, but I was most angry at myself, that I was unable to pick up on his true identity, despite the fact that the signs were everywhere. Of course, there's little reason anyone would suspect a simple barista so skilled at making solbe tea... A good cup of solbe tea was one of my few enjoyments. That was why I didn't want to suspect him. That was the only reason. The. Only. Reason. ...$@%&%!"
