    Story

Traditions from around the region state that the pyramids were built as graves for the ancient kings, but the archaeologist Ellen Jackson recorded that they were made to artificially seal something. As a member of "The Pastfinders," a clan dedicated to the exploration and excavation of ruins, Ellen claimed that the design of the pyramids' architecture indicated the structures were meant to keep something in, rather than to keep everything out. She advised approaching the pyramids with great caution, stating that while they may contain great treasure, they may also contain a terrible threat, and she petitioned the Association to forbid entry into them.

    Story

"I followed Chip's advice and made a home for Louie in the shape of a pyramid. He's absolutely in love with it. Chip said Sphinxes naturally feel safe in pyramids. Sometimes he can actually be helpful, heh. I bet he's still sad about not having his own Sphinx, haha. Maybe I should join the League once Louie gets bigger. I bet Grandpa and Mom would flip out, though, seeing how they weren't happy when Chip said he was gonna be a master. I guess I've still got a few years to think about it." - Cecilia's Journal

"I wasn't able to bring the Sphinx back with me. I mean, Cecilia was the one who found it, and it seems to be really attached to her, so it didn't seem right to take it away. It sucks, but what can you do? I gave her some tips for raising it. Having it around'll be good for her. She did say she got kinda lonely after I left, after all. I think I might've given her some wrong ideas, though. What happens if she starts saying she wants to become a master? I'm the rebellious one of the family, heh. She shouldn't be following in my steps. Still, as her brother, I should support her in doing what she wants... Anyway, let's worry about all that later. Maybe I should send her an Astromnibus." - Chip's Journal

    Story

"One layer of the seals has been broken before, during the deluge of chaos that the one-eyed sage triggered. Although it was only a single layer, the shockwave from that event spread through over half the continent. The god of lightning and his allies were eventually able to restore the seals, but afterward the god of destruction went missing, and the energy of the entire continent became unstable. What escaped while the seal was lifted is known as "Jörmungandr" to some, "Vritra" to others, and "Apophis" to others still. Regardless of the appellation, the beast itself is an amalgamation of chaos from both the World Chronicle and the Great Old Ones that invaded Latecia. And now, chaos is once again seeping out and gathering above an already loosened seal. That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die. - Excerpt from a suspicious ancient record. The page is covered in blood.
